Line DancingThe Line dancing group is very active, meeting every week in Abergele Community Centre in the large spacious hall. Whatever your age or experience, whoever you are, you'll fit in and enjoy youself. Line dancing has had a cowboy image, and it was danced predominantly to country-western music. Today, the balance spreads over a variety of musical styles both new and old. Genres including Celtic, Swing, Pop, Big Band, Folk, and almost anything else that has a regular beat. The great thing about Line Dancing is that you not only dance as a part of a group or line but also as an individual. It is easy to pick up the initial moves, so it appeals to a wide variety of people. Line Dancing encourages everyone to get on the floor. T'ai ChiThe Group has an excellent following having two sections, Beginners and Advanced. Meeting every Tuesday morning in the Abergele Old Peoples' Club in the large hall. T'ai Chi is renowned for its benefits to health and meditation aspects. T'ai Chi's training concentrates on relieving the physical effects of stress on the body and mind. The breathing exercises in coordination with physical movement were formerly taught only to disciples as a separate, training system. In the last 50 years they have become known to the general public. T'ai Chi has become very popular in the last twenty years, as the baby boomers age and T'ai Chi's reputation for ameliorating the effects of aging becomes more well-known. Hospitals, clinics, community and senior centres are hosting T'ai Chi classes in communities around the world. T'ai Chi's gentle, low impact movements surprisingly burn more calories than surfing and nearly as many as downhill skiing. Never mind the Yang, exercise your
Yin.
